After its quiet but complete discontinuation in 2024, the Rolex Yacht-Master II returns. Strangely, it is not called the Yacht-Master III, even though it is a completely different-looking watch, albeit with largely unchanged functionality. Yes, the new, 2026 Rolex Yacht-Master II is still a programmable countdown chronograph — a real tour de force in movement engineering — but now with a 60-minute diver’s bezel. “Sleek, simplified and modernized, the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master II makes a grand comeback,” states Rolex. Frankly, I was not expecting its return. Well, Rolex doubled down on this highly specified and unique caliber, and even went through the trouble of updating it for the 2026 Rolex Yacht-Master II. Now called the Rolex Caliber 4162, it is an evolution of Caliber 4161, with a “completely reengineered countdown function, this new movement incorporates a number of the major innovations 1:1 replica Rolex watches has brought to its movements.” Particular attention has been paid to aesthetics — although not sure what the point of that is, since the caseback is solid metal, and not see-through sapphire crystal, as it is on select Rolex watches of late with fresh movements. “The calibre features a cut-out oscillating weight and new finishes – notably on the bridges, which are embellished with Rolex Côtes de Genève, the brand’s reinterpretation of a well-known decoration in watchmaking.”

The 2026 Rolex Yacht-Master II is priced at 18,100 Swiss francs in Oystersteel (Rolex 126688) and 51,500 Swiss francs in 18k gold (Rolex 126680).
